Gallowsfield Wood (formerly Haughley Picnic Site) is now owned by the community.  The Parish Council want to get as many people as possible involved in using and also maintaining, this fantastic space.  The first maintenance task is to create a wildlife friendly dead-hedge (a hedge made up of brushwood) along part of the boundary where there was once a chainlink fence.

This is an easy and fun task that all ages can participate in, especially children because it involves sticks.

The working party will start at 10am and probably finish around 2pm but you don’t have to stay for the whole time.  Please come along for an hour or so.  We don’t yet have a supply of gloves, so please bring your own and also loppers or pruning shears / saws.  However, there will be plenty of work that doesn’t involve any cutting.
